Thank you for visiting Living Life Retired (LLR). This site was set up to provide information and inspiration to retirees, especially solo retirees. It offers a wide variety of topics from knowledgeable sources and some fun inspiration thrown in.
Sherry Christensen, is the founder/author/administrator of LLR. She is a retired educator. At the age of 55, Sherry left the high school business/marketing classroom in northern Colorado. Now, she works part-time as a substitute teacher.
Sherry is the proud mother of one married daughter; her favorite little people, her three grandchildren, call her “Nanni.” She divorced in 2004 after a 21-year marriage.
Sherry earned an associates of science degree from Amarillo College, a bachelors of business administration degree from the University of North Texas, and a master of arts degree in educational leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. She is a licensed teacher, holds a K-12 principal license and a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching credential.
Sherry grew up on a farm in Toddville, Iowa the middle of seven children; six of them girls. She has also lived in Texas and New Mexico before making Loveland, Colorado her home for the past 20 years.
After seeking and finding little information on the internet about being solo in retirement, she found herself back in the classroom in a beginning WordPress class and built the LLR website. She launched the site on August 22, 2016, her 57th birthday.
Sherry welcomes your comments and suggestions in the hopes of building an internet community of informed and inspired solo retirees.
